Labrador Retrievers are not normally lazy but when they get older they slow down naturally. If you will leave them alone for a long time then they may show disinterest. When they get over feeded they gain weight and you will feel they are bored and lazy.

Is It Normal For A Labrador To Sleep All Day?

Yes it can be normal, labrador puppies sleep up to 20 hrs a day. Their growing body requires rest to develop properly. Adult labradors sleep half day or up to 14 hours a day. But still you should check if they are healthy and happy, and involved in activities such as eating, playing, or going for walks?. If your labrador doesn’t want to wake up after complete sleep then you should investigate according to the symptoms.

If your labrador retriever is lazy then you should motivate him by providing them exercise for 1 or 2 hrs in a day. You can give them toys of their choice to engage their minds. If he is facing depression then you should give them a play time in which you can play games such as fetch or hide and seek and tug of war. You can also take them swimming because they like swimming. Take them to other dogs or humans to give them a new environment.
