A very sad mishap occurred in Seversk, Russia on 10th march. The family was sleeping, then their pet dachshund killed their baby. Baby was a newborn and sleeping in a cot. After having attacked the dog was sleeping near the cot. The mother awoke, saw the baby, and felt shocked. Because the dog badly injured her baby. She fastly called the emergency services. When they arrived, they checked the injuries.
But the injuries on the baby’s body were too severe. Parents were heartbroken. They said the dog had already shown aggressive behavior some time ago but they ignored it. Parents don’t have any idea, their ignorance can lead to tragic consequences. They also give a vet checkup to the dachshund but don’t take it seriously.
After the attack, the authorities put the dog to death. The Police have started an investigation for death caused by negligence. The police said that if they find the parents guilty, they can punish them with two years in prison.
However, dachshunds are popular because of their small size and long body. They are also used for hunting small animals. Mostly dachshunds are playful dogs, but sometimes if they feel threatened near them, they become very aggressive. During their aggressiveness it is difficult to control them.
Don’t think about their small sizes. Dachshunds need proper training or socialization. With proper research, we know that dachshund bites can be larger and more harmful than those of some other breeds.
From this incident, many people raise their concerns about animals. Some dog specialists said that “Any signs of aggression or anxiety in pets should be taken seriously ”. This sad incident reminds us, when childrens and pets are close we need to keep monitoring them. Because small breeds also act as a danger if they are stressed.
This event is very sad for that family who lost their small daughter. Now let’s hope for the best. Because the authorities have not finished the investigation yet.
